I found this quilt on Pinterest and followed the link to the directions because I thought it was such a great example of “color gets the credit, value does the work”. Also, it used a lot of scraps! In particular, I had TWO bins full of 5″ charms from a swap group I used to belong to, and I used an entire bin to make this quilt 🙂

Love it!
Thanks, Norma!
What an achievement — it looks like it took a lot of sewing to get the effect
Those tint strips were the main challenge 🙂
Nice! Matching those intersections would have done me in. Any tips?
Thanks for the idea! I’ll do a post on those pesky intersections 🙂
Thank you!
This looks like a true plaid, material magic! Love it!
Thanks! You can follow the link to the free pattern 🙂
These scraps have been sewn together into a convincing plaid fabric…ehhh, quilt. But all those ‘intersections?’ Yikes! Yours look impeccable, Zippy.
Thank you. I always appreciate hearing from you 🙂
I love this quilt!
Thanks! Seeing it on Pinterest convinced me I had to make it.
I love this quilt a lot! but I am also spooked by those tiny little squares in the sashing. I think I can manage that thin sashing but then I might just paint in the squares or hand stitch them. For me it would be faster than trying to match corners. 🙂
Aha! At Chela’s suggestion I’m doing a corner matching tutorial next Sunday! Thanks for commenting 🙂
Ok, I have cut most of my pieces and I have made the tops and bottoms of the dark blocks. Now I am just waiting for your tutorial before I do the precise piecing in the middle of the blocks!
I started with scraps, but I have three more colorways in my head too. I am not letting myself look on Pinterest for any other versions or I will get sidetracked. 🙂 I am so glad you showed us this quilt.
Wow! Good for you. Tutorial scheduled this coming Sunday. Can’t wait to see your version 🙂
