I’ve finished 32 quilts so far this year, and 8 additional non-quilt sewing projects. The good news is that I’m not going to show you all of that here. Rather, here are my 10 favorites in no particular order.

Dynamic Dresdens, made in class with Susan Cleveland

Bright Scraps, one of many scrap quilts made this year. And no, the scrap pile has NOT diminished!

It Takes A Village to Can Watermelon, started during the pandemic and finished this year. If only the pandemic were finished, too!

Wild Geese, from a pattern by Beyond the Reef

Arkansas Crossroads, a traditional pattern made from scrapsย

Superfans, made from many scraps. Inspired by several quilts I saw on Pinterest, but no pattern

A Girl’s Best Friend–another scrap quilt!

I liked this pattern by Brigitte Heitland of Zen Chic so much that I made it twice

“Susan’s Head Explodes”, 12″ x 12″, a tribute to Susan Cleveland, made for the SAQA auction

My first bowl made with The Mountain Thread Company cord

Merry Christmas! I am impressed – 32 quilts. I think I am going to take a look back at my quilts too, I am already lining up 2023 quilts and realized I don’t remember what I did at the beginning of 2022. Thanks for the ideas. I like all your quilts. There is such a variety of designs.
Thanks, and Merry Christmas to you, too!
Arkansas Crossroads but I love them all ๐
Yes, I love Arkansas Crossroads so much that I’m thinking of making it again ๐
Wow, you have made several beauties! Your scrap quilts are gorgeous!
Thank you! I’ve had a scrappy theme going for a while. When you’ve been quilting for a few years, you have more scraps than yardage ๐
Very productive! Some awesome pieces there! I see a color palette going on there!
Yes, I suspect most of us use the same colors repeatedly. Not a bad thing, but I may think about adding a few ๐
What wonderful quilts!
Thank you ๐
What a great review of some of your favorites! You have really used the scraps this year. Looking forward to seeing what your 2023 brings!
Thank you! And thanks for following my blog.
It’s delightful to see ten of your favorite quilts! They’re all so colorful! And truly, you made 32 quilts this year?! That’s astounding. There’s no way I could ever make that many… and truth be told, I don’t want to! ๐ Finding a home for a quilt is difficult enough these days. But yay you for all you’ve accomplished!
So far my quilts have gone to two different Ronald McDonald houses, a program for at-risk infants, a NICU, a camp for seriously ill children, and the Lutheran overseas charities. Some do have specific requirements, but I’ve been able to find a place for every quilt.
Another productive and colorful year!
Thank you, Chela! And Happy New Year!
Pretty & unique!
Thanks! I’m on my way over to look at your blog ๐
Superfans is my fav and the corded bowl. 32 completions – a foreshadowing of good things to come in the year 2023 (reverse the 32 to 23) Just a numbers thing – my way of saying “Fantastic!”
๐
Thanks, Laura. And yeah, numbers spin around in my head, too ๐
‘Great minds’…ya know?!
You have had an extra-zippy year. 32 quilts in 365 days must surely be a record. Well done !!
My favourite is the Dresden plate variation.
Wishing you another good sewing year
