Here’s a quilt made from some blocks for a class I taught, plus a few 5″ squares that were in the stash.
Look at the very fancy design quilted by Julia Madison!
And here’s a picture of the back.
I liked this quilt so well that I sent it to the newest member of our extended family, since we attended his parents’ wedding and even saw his Mother fairly recently.
Quilt stats:
Name: None; recipient is welcome to name it
Size: 40″ x 40″
Pattern: This is a variation of a block I learned from Barbara Lenox years ago
Fabric: Scraps from many years, as you probably can see!
Quilted by: Julia Madison
What a sweetheart!
I am so surprised to be old enough to have grandchildren and grandnephews!
Time sneaks up on us! During my early years of teaching, students would mistakenly call me mom. Then one day, they called me grandma. This was just before I became a grandma.
Very nice! What a good use for an assortment of prints, especially with the highlighted area in the center of the quilt. Longarm quilting is always extra-special. Good for you to have made it for a newly-arrived baby. I’m sure the parents appreciate it.
Really sweet baby…but then you knew that!
I like the backing fabric with the black binding.
You’re rolling right along – I’ll bet your stash of scraps is getting smaller?
🙂
Hahahahaha! It’s one of life’s little miracles that the scrap pile never gets any smaller! I am suspicious of what those scraps may be up to when I’m not looking 🤣
Maybe those scrappy piles are where all the lost sock-mates go!!! (same emoji as yours, except I can’t access it)
Have a great week, Mary.
Sweet baby, sweet quilt! I love the quilting on the piece. Congratulations on the new addition to your extended family 🙂
Thanks 🙂
Lovely bright piece and yes, the quilting is indeed fancy
Thanks, Mariss 🙂
I Love this, Mary! Looks like a fun project!
Aha! I have advocated for this block as a swap project, but unfortunately it is more difficult than it appears because it is directional 🙄
