A friend who loves TINY things recently finished this postage stamp quilt of 5496 one-inch squares!!! She will donate it to be raffled as a fundraiser at the retirement home where she works.
Jerri says this is “the ultimate I-Spy quilt”. She has found many, many, little novelty prints to put in the little blocks. She even has Elvis, though I didn’t get him in this close-up.
Here are just a few of the projects from the design walls at a recent quilt retreat at a “secret” hideaway:
One person made several dozen of the cute half-circle napkins that fold into a Christmas tree. She made a lot of place mats, too, but I didn’t get a picture of those.
Here are a few more works in progress from various people:And finally, here are some of the quilts we made for Ronald McDonald House:
Great work all around! Ronald McDonald House will be a lucky recipient. The scrappy star blocks remind me of Katherine Guerrier. I’ll have to get out my Scrap Quilt Sensations book and get inspired again. Thanks for sharing.
Good catch! I think she was working on a design from that book, now that you mention it. We all love that book; I think everyone in the group has a copy! When I get to my desktop computer I’ll add that to the picture.
Must. Get. Book. Out. 🙂
OH and related, Anna Williams… Not the same of course, but there are overlapping elements, and I’ve been thinking about her, too.
great pictures and projects…I’m still blown away by the postage stamp scrappy quilt…can’t even fathom the work that went into that baby.
Yes, the postage stamp quilt maker has WAY more patience than I do! Thanks for visiting 😊
Can’t imagine the work going into the postage stamp……it makes me a little dizzy though! The purple and lavender quilt and the Christmas tree napkins (quite clever) are especially appealing but all in all a lot of nice work there!
And of course my blog stats now say I have been read in Bahrain! What fun! Enjoyed your pix on Facebook.
