The top I started at the Jittery Wings retreat is finished and has gone to the quilter!
Here’s the pattern I started with:

And here are the first two arrangements of the top:
Here’s the final arrangement of the blocks:
This is intended to represent sunset over the mountain that faced our house when we lived in Western North Carolina (U.S.). I told the quilter “no hurry”, so it will be a while before this one’s finished. Meanwhile, I have a big pile of quilts to bind!

Ooo. Ooo! That’s lovely! I like the colors you chose – so many! – and your arrangement is unique – well-suited to your vision of mountains. You did a nice job with it, and seemingly quickly! Have fun binding quilts. I don’t mind that task, do you?
Thanks for liking my quilt top. I don’t mind binding quilts, though designing is my favorite part of the process.
Breath-taking! I don’t mind hand-binding, either…and am enjoying that part of the finish to my M³ piece. 🙂
Excellent! And do we get to see that piece soon?!?!
Oh Zippy, your enthusiasm warms my soul! “Soon” is such a relative term…but yes, soon! 🙂
That’s so pretty
Thank you 😀
What a masterful use and design with square blocks and HSTs! I am in love with this quilt! Nicely done 🙂
Love the sunset over the mountain layout!
Thanks! It was a “challenge” (wink)
A fabulous piece. Hope that you will keep this one.
Fabulous. I hope that you will keep this one.
Yep–that last one is the best arrangement of the ones you showed (of course). It’s just beautiful and is evocative of your sunsets and mountains, but in cloth. You are one of those amazing quilters who actually finishes her class project — bravo!
Thanks, Elizabeth! This is not to say there are no class projects that have waited for years…
