A friend and I decided to work together on Tula Pink’s City Sampler quilt. We liked the variety of the blocks and the tiny pieces in some of them. Since I really prefer not to make the same block twice, 100 different blocks were appealing.
And yes, I know everybody else made this quilt years ago. I’ve seen several beautiful examples.
Anyway, here are a few of my blocks so far. If some of them don’t look right, that’s because I made a substitute for any block I didn’t care for 😀And finally, my favorite block so far:
What have you been up to?
Wow, what a glorious range of colour and shapes. This is going to be a very cheerful quilt. It looks like you have been having lots of fun.
Yes, it is fun! Thanks 😊
I love the shark fabric too! I can see some batik look a likes in the future!
Good idea!
I’ve known several people who have made this quilt. I don’t think you’re behind at all! In fact, a couple quilters I know are making it now. One friend made it twice! It seems to be a good pattern, and your blocks look good! Have fun with it!
Thanks. It is fun 🙂
You aren’t behind! I just got the book a few months ago and will be starting soon. I have that same shark fabric in my stash! I had to have it after I saw somebody make a summer dress out of it!!
Yes, I had to have the shark fabric when I saw it. And now that you’ve told me about the dress I may have to go get more for a shirt!
If you make a shark shirt, please post a pic!!!!
“…I made a substitute for any block I didn’t care for.”
That’s what I like about you, Mary, adjusting patterns to fit your own vision. And ending up with fantastic results!
Thank you, Laura 🙂
