I made this quilt years ago at my husband’s request, and when he retired last year it came home with him. It was inspired by a quilt on a calendar I had in 2004 or 2005, but unfortunately I did not save the inspiration. If anyone recognizes where I got this design, please let me know so I can give proper credit.
The fabrics are all Kona cotton because for many, many years that was the only choice in solids.

Design source: unknown, but it came from a calendar
Finished size: 42.5″ x 43″

A technical feat!
Thanks. It was fun 🙂
It reminds me of Gwen Marston.
It’s quite a striking design. Makes me think “Amish” because of the arrangement, but the color say “modern.” No doubt it looked really good where it hung at his job.
That is an awesome piece and I remember when Kona cotton were the thing for solids! I used to daydream about owning a yard of every color – ha!
And I used to day dream about owning a yard each of the fossil ferns 😆
Oh that’s a lovely day dream! 🙂
This is a Gwen Marston quilt. It’s a beauty, right?!
Yes, several people have suggested Gwen Marston and I agree based on colors and design. It would be less “free” than her usual in terms of the shape of the pieces. I do love the design.
