When travelling through West Virginia, we usually stop at Tamarack, the West Virginia welcome center and craft shop in Beckley. There are many West Virginia products for sale there, but of course I always look at the quilts. Here are a few from a recent visit.
The prices varied! The last one shown above, a king size (100″ x 108″), was under $2000. The leaf throw shown below (51″ x 68″) was priced at $6000.
This next picture wasn’t a quilt. It was wood (and paint) but I thought the design would be good for a quilt.
Do you look for quilts when you travel?

A surprising spot for quilt displays & possible purchase is at the Visitor Center (Iowa side) which overlooks the Mississippi River on I80. Haven’t been through that way for some time now, so can’t say if it’s still a valid statement. But the views alone are worth the stop! 🙂
Aha! I think I see a pattern here. Going to have to start checking visitor centers when we travel.
