2024 Favorites

This was a banner year for quilt production–I won’t bore you with how many and where they went, but there were a lot! Here are pictures of a few of my personal favorites. Where a pattern is involved, I give the information along with the picture. Where there’s no pattern, feel free to just make your own pattern to copy mine.

This is my version of the Bloem pattern from Zen Chic.

This little house quilt was made for Habitat for Humanity

“Blue Sky and Sunshine” was made from orphan blocks

This is from the pattern “Contrasting” by Zen Chic

There are many chandelier quilt patterns out there, but this one was free on the Free Spirit website

This pattern is BQ4 from Maple Island Quilts

This is my modification of “Mod Fish” from Colourwerx

This Quilt of Valor was made using a free pattern from Krista Moser’s website

I made this quilt from orphan blocks and was surprised at how much the side borders added to the composition

On to 2025!

  1. A glorious array. Thank you for the summary of your productive year. It’s generous of you to share your designs and your sources.

I know it’s not a poll, but my favourite is your rendition of Zen Chic’s Contrasting pattern

  2. Beautiful quilts! Thank you so much for the quilt show. I love your taste and execution, and I regularly take inspiration from the quilts you share. I think the chandelier is my favorite, but those fishes are very charming!

  3. I don’t find it at all boring to know how many quilts a person made in one year. It’s interesting to know how productive you’ve been, or not been. I’ve become accustomed to seeing others’ high numbers of finishes, especially when quilts have been longarmed. No doubt the nine quilts you shared here are but a fraction of those you made – and most likely contributed! – in 2024. Good for you! I really enjoy seeing the wide range of styles you make, from scrappy to planned, from symmetrical to asymmetrical. And don’t we all love a free design?! Great work, Mary! Wishing you another wonderful year ahead!

  4. Some of my favorites were in this review…now I’m ready for part 2!!

I love that you put the Bloem one at the top — it’s so colorful, and a good entryway for all your productivity. Obviously, Zen Chic was a fav this go-round.
