When sorting quilts recently I came across this one and had no memory of it–ha!
It was obviously made some time in the 2020s, based on the fabrics included, but I don’t know when, or even who quilted it. Remember, this time period includes the pandemic. For me it also includes a major household move with consequent use of several different long arm quilters. So I just have no idea.
However, I was able to look back through my file of patterns and find the original, available for free here.
And now that I’ve found both the quilt and the pattern I may just make it again. It was a great use of scraps of various sizes!

What a happy find! I once lost a small quilt and am still looking for it. Do you think that our quilts are playing hide and seek with us?!!
I don’t know about quilts playing hide-and-seek, but I am pretty sure the scraps are reproducing when I’m not looking!
Mine too. If scraps can play games with us, then whole quilts can perhaps also do it π€£
There are a lot worse things to find hiding in your house lol. Suspect there are many quilts I have made over the years I have forgotten about. Starting to regret not keeping better records.
Indeed, I was many years into quilting before it occurred to me to keep a record!
I love that kind of quilt, with all the scraps and the different shapes and sizes magically interlocking! π
Me too! I look for patterns like this, though of course you and I could design our own… Thanks for visiting and commenting.
What we find when we least expect it! Fun I-forgot/discovery story – ahhh yes, the Pandemic explains it all IMHO! I also noticed an ironic twist within the actual name of the quilt pattern ‘Communique quilt’ perhaps it is ‘communicating’ to you now from your past-stash of quilts?! HA! π
You are the best at word games–I hadn’t noticed that!
So you just have random quilts stashed everywhere in your house? π
You have been quite the prolific quilter so I can see how you might forget how this one got started! Nice surprise π
Thanks! It’s good to hear from you π
