Repair–The Fifth Finish

Yes, “Repair” is the name of this pattern, by Eudaimonia Studio. I especially enjoyed that instructions are given for both “precise” and [deliberately] “imperfect” styles! In case you can’t guess, I certainly chose the imperfect directions, which encourage cutting off of points every chance you get–ha! Then I arranged the blocks semi-randomly rather than in one of the multiple suggested layouts, and here we are.

Here’s the back with the hope that you can see the wonderful panto quilting done by Linda Nichols. The design is called “Mid-Century Squared” and I think it’s perfect for the quilt.

  1. Love it! The colors, random shapes, and the quilting. If I was the designer, I’d think about renaming it. The first thing I thought when I saw your blog post title was, “Oh, Mary is fixing a hole in blue jeans with hand stitching.” See how I jump to wrong conclusions?! Truly though, it’s a pretty quilt!

    • I don’t quite get the name of the quilt either. However, if you look at her website and patterns, she has a lot of esoteric ideas. Just look at the name of her business: “Eudaimonia”. I had to look it up. Her patterns, though, are fabulous!

    • The secret is this: A quilt is “finished” when I get the binding on, and those have piled up. So, I haven’t made 5 quilts start-to-finish this year, just put the binding on some of them!
