I’m usually behind on binding quilts for several reasons that I’ll spare you. Anyway, that makes it look like I’ve made a lot of quilts in quick succession, when really I’ve just procrastinated. Then I get around to binding a bunch of quilts at once and people think, “Wow, you’re really productive!” See how that works? Ha!
This is the second finish of 2025. It’s called “Ice Cubes”. I got the idea from a quilt by Zen Chic (her pattern here). I made it to use scraps, and mixed white and cream neutrals for the background. It made a good “leaders and enders” project.

More to come!

Aha – the secret’s out! But the mystique lives on! π I like this pattern for scraps – your gradation from upper left corner to lower right corner adds much to its artistry. Love the signature Zippy binding – perfect fabric, too.
Thank you, Laura. It’s always good to hear from you!
Love this! This is one versatile scrappy quilt! π
Thanks, Laura!
I wouldn’t have told and just let everyone think I had been super productive lol. Its a lovely quilt, I love all those blues and greens.
Hmmm…maybe I can still fool the folks in my quilt guild? Not sure they read the blog π
I really like the progression of the cool colors. And thanks for the ZenChic reminder. I’ll look up the pattern!
Her proportions are different from mine, but you’ll see the similarities. Thanks for visiting and commenting.
I love it! I may make one of these one day.
Good use of scraps and very easy–I recommend it!
Sea glass came to mind when I saw the colors. Though ice cubes fits them too. Several of my guild mates used to bring a stack of quilts to bind to retreats so they could have a lot of finishes. =)
Yes, lots of finishes…trying not to start too much until they are done!
A lovely and well-named quilt
Thanks! It used scraps, but I seem to have as many as ever…
That’s the way of scraps!
Look at you – kicking butt on finishing quilts at the start of 2025 and its only January! Lovely quilt π
So getting way behind on binding makes me look good? Ha! I think I like that viewpoint….
You might have to train the Woodworker husband to sew bindings so you don’t get too backlogged finishing all these quilts in 2025 π
