Still dealing with computer issues, but of course it’s necessary to take a break to sew. Therefore, I put the binding on Starfield.
This quilt started with using orphan blocks (the stars) to practice inset circles. Then I added a few more things, which you may recognize as leftovers from this quilt:
And here it is!

Very nice! Sorry to hear you continue to have computer problems! I’d be out buying a new computer, pronto. Can’t imagine being without.
Indeed, it’s interesting how dependent we’ve become on our computers!
A productive break.
And hoping for more of a “break” as our Thanksgiving weekend approaches at the end of the month! Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Such nice companions!
I especially like that you made different sizes of circles (and stars, in the earlier one), and I love that large one!
Thanks! What’s not to like about getting two quilts out of one set of fabrics, right?
Oh that color palette is exquisite! Orange and blue is one of my favorite combinations. Wonderful use of orphans blocks and newly pieced blocks!
Thanks! It all started with that wonderful red-yellow-blue Indonesian batik a friend gave me.
I hope your computer gets back on track – don’t you use it a lot for planning & designing patterns? Carole’s block pattern works nicely incorporated into ‘Starfield’!
Yes, I design with Electric Quilt, and I’ve got that set up just fine. The hassle is learning new software to edit photos for the blog, but I’ll get there! Thanks…
You always have such great ideas with your orphan blocks. I keep cramming mine into the bin, but don’t ever pull them out to use. Obviously, I need to reform, if the result is as striking as yours. Love this!!
Thank you, Elizabeth. It started with using orphan blocks to practice insetting whole circles and just took off from there!
