This first quilt was made to display the beautiful fabrics from a line called Ancient Beauty, by Robert Kaufman. A friend and I found fat quarter bundles of this in a shop we visited while travelling, and the fabric was just too beautiful to leave there.

Wow that Ancient Fabric is gorgeous! That swirl picture really shows off the beauty of the fabrics! Indonesian ethnic looks awesome 🙂
Thanks. You see why that fabric just jumped into my basket–ha!
The tic-tac block is perfect for showcasing large scale or can’t-cut-this prints! I have the book, I think, but it’s quicker to ask — did you follow the pattern for the orientation of the blocks (=where the black square is) or did you just put ’em up to please the eye? And the stars twinkle merrily!
OMG, I think I actually followed the pattern 😀
Good to hear from you!
More beautiful quilts from your studio.
I know that feeling of having to give special fabrics a good home!
Indeed, those special fabrics have a habit of jumping into my cart!
